19th September 2021 (pre-booking required)

September 19, 2021 @ 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm

For our last open day in the railway’s 50th anniversary year we’ll be celebrating with two visiting steam engines! Come and join us for a ride behind Cagney No.44 from the Rhyl Miniature Railway or Smokey Joe from the Sherwood Forest Railway, or both! Enjoy real Italian coffee, a variety of teas, delicious hot chocolate, cold drinks and snacks provided by locally-based family business The Barista Sisters.

Fill out the form below to pre-book.

To keep numbers to a safe level, and make sure everyone can enjoy riding both trains, entry will be restricted to those who have pre-booked an arrival time slot (you will be able to stay as long as you like once you have arrived on site). Bookings will be required for all visitors, including members of the FoTLR. We will need the name of the lead member of your group, and the number of people in your group (including babies and children under 5). Once you’ve booked, just give your name at the gate on arrival and we will check you in (no e-tickets are issued).

Entry fees should be paid at the gate. Please bring exact cash if possible. Entry remains at £2.50 per person aged 5 and over. Children aged 4 and under attend free, but must still have their place booked please. Members should show their cards to get free entry. The entry fee includes as many rides as you like (subject to space on the trains).

Please be advised that Whorlton bridge is closed to all traffic. There is no vehicle, bicycle or pedestrian access via the bridge. There is a signed diversion route across Winston Bridge and through Ovington.

All dates are subject to government guidelines and review.
